Luís Contrário is a multi-instrumentalist living between autumnal post-punk and electronics. He blends danceable rhythms with melodies that embrace melancholy, creating an experience as intimate as it is irresistible.
His sound takes us to a universe where a bass, a loop pedal, a drum machine, and a synthesizer walk into a dimly lit bar made entirely of dark wood.
In 2023, he released his first solo record – ‘músicas de dança para pessoas tristes’ ("dance music for sad people") through the label Saliva Diva. The album's title prepares us for what we’ll hear in the next 20 minutes. We’ll dance sadly. Drowning the anguish or celebrating melancholy. Forcing the rhythm of happiness into a melody that doesn’t want to smile. We’ll be happy, sheltered in sadness.
