The Independent Music Publishers International Forum
is a professional network gathering music publisher members from across Europe
and internationally. Its new Network for Capacity Building of European
Independent Music Publishers project has a capacity-building focus, enhancing
the knowledge and ability of Publisher members in dealing with their necessary
digital transition, innovating music publishing processes both on the
administrative and creative fronts while they nurture new talents in their
writers, composers and creative professionals. Providing Networking Events,
Development Grants, Monitoring of Usage of European Works via data collection,
working towards greater transparency in rights distributions and metadata
harmonisation and quality, the Network project will also feature an Advocacy
group, addressing rights society practices, legal disadvantages facing European
publishers, writers and composers, anti-trust and monopoly issues, buy-outs and
fair remuneration for writers and composers. The Network project, therefore, builds the capacity of our publishers and writers to be active at the
international level in Europe and beyond, expanding the reach to surrounding
territories and fostering the creation of new next-generation music publishers
while helping our members make full use of new technologies available to music
publishers and their writers. Working toward sustainability, generating growth,
nurturing talents and innovating a more green, fair and transparent music
ecosystem, the Network project includes three main networking events, one per
year, plus 12 capacity-building webinars and 45 music publisher development
grants throughout the project.
